Whats Next? String Quartet

For my next musical project, I have been composing string arrangements for my original songs and will be accompanied live by a string quartet. These new (and a few older) songs of mine sound very inspired so far and I can’t wait to bring them to life with real string players!! Three of the string arrangements were made before Juniper but the other TEN have been made with my newborn daughter on my chest over the last six weeks. My little Co-Composer LOVES the strings and inspired MUCH of this music. Here’s a video montage of some of that! This has been one of the most musically rich and creatively satisfying endeavors I have pursued in a while! I’ve had strings on my records since 2007 but I’ve always plunked away on the keyboard to write parts. This is the first time I’ve notated on sheet music and arranged the parts myself with a new knowledge of the functionality of violins, the viola and cello. It’s been quite the learning experience and I’m reeeeally stoked to play them live and get into a studio to record these songs. There are two BIG shows in September where I will be performing with the string quartet in large outdoor amphitheaters. Friday 9/3 at Cuyahoga Falls Amphitheatre (Falls Friday) and Wed 9/8 at Lock 3.
